All faculty are required to complete the Introductory Tutorial for the Tri-Council Policy Statement and submit their Certificate of Completion with their application.

The Tri-Council (CHIR, NSERC, SSHRC) requires that the University of Windsor withhold funds for the Tri-Council-funded research programs until ethics approval has been obtained.

The University will not release grant monies for all other funded research projects involving human subjects until ethics clearance has been received. However, if you have not sufficiently developed your project to submit a completed ethics application, you may request the release of funds by submitting a Release Funds Form to the Research Ethics Coordinator. You may specify the amount of funds required; however, the final decision is made by the Chair of the REB.
