14th Annual Regional Secondary School Programming Competition

The School of Computer Science wrapped up the 14th Annual Windsor Regional Secondary School Programming Competition (SSPC) on Friday December 1st, 2017.

The events include a training session, a mock competition, and the actual contest.  The top 5 teams receive valuable prizes of up to $100 per contestant. Five challenging questions were presented with the ultimate goal of solving them correctly in 3 hours. 

This year 22 teams competed representing 9 regional schools from Windsor/Essex/Chatham/Kent.

Many thanks to the secondary school teachers who took the time to bring their students to the competition. They came from Belle River, Catholic Central, Chatham-Kent, General Amherst, Herman, Leamington District, Riverside, Vincent Massey and Ursuline College.

Winners from the top six teams will be awarded a School of Computer Science entrance award for up to $2000 for each participant of the winning teams. 

The top team solved all 5 problems!

5th Ursuline College - Rabid Sky Enchiladas

6th Chatham-Kent Secondary School - CKSS 1

Special kudos to the SCS  Faculty, Staff - both technical and administrative, for handling all of the logistics. It is a highly technical competition with a lot of advance preparation.
