Don't try to walk across Sunset Avenue today.

Contractors repaving the street will close it even to foot traffic between Wyandotte Street and University Avenue. Weather permitting, this work will be completed Thursday.

The contractors will try to retain pedestrian crossings while work continues, but the only guaranteed spots to cross will be at University Avenue and south of Wyandotte Street. Fanchette Street will also be affected; it will be crossable only east of California Avenue.

Repaving of Sunset Avenue by city work crews is scheduled for Thursday. Weather permitting, it will be completed in just one day.
