Theology Courses

Canterbury College offers four kinds of Theology Programs.

The first program is an occasion series of workshops and other special events which are offered for clergy and laity as continuing education opportunities.  A range of subjects and distinguished speakers is made available so that people can take advantage of any number of learning circumstances.

The second program is a certificate program in basic theology.  The courses in this program are meant to satisfy a general interest in theology. This course of study is also designed to meet the guidelines and requirements of the Anglican Diocese of Huron for those who are preparing to be licensed by the Bishop of Huron as Lay Readers.

The third program consists of courses which are a part of a Doctor of Ministry degree program awarded by Ashland Theological College in Ashland, Ohio.  Canterbury College provides the "Canadian Context" portion of that degree for Canadian students.

The fourth program consists of courses which are part of the Licentiate in Theology (LTh) course of study offered by Huron University College, but available locally at Canterbury College.  Some of the core courses in this program may be transfered to the Bachelor of Theology (BTh) or Master of Divinity (MDiv) degrees offered by Huron University College.
