Hyuk-jae Rhee received B.A. and M.A degrees in Economics from Korea University in 1995 and 1997 respectively, and his  Ph.D.  from Michigan State University in 2003.

His research interest is in international macroeconomics, and in particular, in monetary policy in a small open economy.
