Buoys Deployed to Monitor Nutrient Levels in Lake Erie in Real Time

Dr. Jill Crossman, Assistant Professor, GLIER (hybrid) and School of the Environment has deployed buoys which will monitor nutrient levels in Lake Erie in Real Time.  The goal of the monitoring is to track nutrient levels in Lake Erie and it's tributaries to predict and ultimately prevent harmful algal blooms. 

Dr. Crossman's new research program is called "Erie Watch".  The equipment and technical support were provided by Realtime Aquatic Ecosystem Observation Network (RAEON), headed by Dr. Aaron Fisk, GLIER.
